Q: Please briefly introduce yourself and Gather to our community?
A: this is Ayhan Gungor. I’ve been working as the chief marketing officer of Gather Network for the past year. My experience spans across 18 years in sales & marketing; worked in roles such as a marketing manager, product manager in a multinational manufacturing company within the energy industry for long years. Joined the blockchain industry in 2017, and since then worked in another PoS/MN blockchain project for community management/technical support, business development, partnerships & cross marketing, as well as administrative matters.

Gather is a platform that allows publishers to monetize without ads, provides businesses & developers to access cheap and reliable processing power.
- Gather Online (Layer 0) allows web & mobile developers to monetize from their users processing power.
- Gather Network (Layer1) is the protocol layer, a hybrid proof of work and proof of stake blockchain, where stakeholders are incentivized to maintain transparency and security.
- Gather Cloud (Layer 2) provides affordable processing power to enterprises and developers.
Gather Enterprise provides consultancy services and tooling for developers, businesses and crypto networks.
Q: How Gather can be applied on website? How does it work? Please explain more in simple words?
These websites or applications do not have to be crypto-currency or blockchain sites, it can be a news/blog site, a streaming website or app, a mobile application, basically any option is viable. Gather Online rewards the publishers, and the visitors if loyalty program is activated by publisher for the time spent on their website or applications.
When a visitor comes to a website which has integrated Gather Online, he/she will see Gather banner asking for their explicit content to share their processing power, such as this one:
This is very important for us from transparency perspective.
Q: Why is the GTH token necessary for your ecosystem? What kind of a value does it bring to Gather Network and in which different ways is it used within the project?
A: GTH’s value is derived from being as a medium of exchange within the ecosystem along with providing holders the opportunity to vote on the future of Gather. The specific features that use $GTH as a medium of exchange include:
1) Gas Fees and network interactions charges, settlement and processing power related charges for the Gather Cloud, and Settlement of Gather Online Rewards.
2) Providing a financial incentive to nodes to act honestly.
3) Entitling Staking holders with the right to participate in the governance and future of the Gather ecosystem
Q: What is the main difference between the model proposed by the browser Brave and Gather, if both are based on monetizing advertising?
A: To put it simply;
- Requires User Download
- Ad Model: Un-sustainable Revenue
- Privacy, Tracking Concerns
- Intrusive UX
Whereas for Gather:
- No Downloads Needed (Browser/App agnostic)
- Ease Of Use
- High Revenue For Publishers
- Non-Ad Model
- Privacy & User focused
Q: Tell us about your plans for 2020, what are you currently working on, and are you going to expand the list of big exchanges?
A: We are currently putting heavy focus on development, but we also continue building our communities. As you witness here, we are organizing many AMAs to build grassroots communities that know about our project and the value it brings. Apart from community building activities, we will definitely be onboarding many new partners. We will be running campaigns to raise the awareness of Gather Online as we get closer to the mainnet launch but in the meantime we will carry on and bring more partners with our B2B marketing efforts.
By the end of 2020, we target to bring our testnet live, and in about 6 months we want to bring our mainnet live.
Of course, there will be more exchanges as a result of our natural progress, however, we cannot talk about them due to non-disclosure agreements. Any listing will be announced through our anouncement channel: @GatherAnnouncement
Q: I’ve seen a detail on your site that we haven’t seen in many attempts. I saw that you allocate 7 percent of your funding or budget to legal issues. Can you give details on this subject?
A: Since we operate in an uncertain regulatory environment, we need to be even more careful when it comes to both legal and regulatory issues. We have to consult with legal practitioners from multiple countries and jurisdictions, hence the extra cost.
Q: How profitable is it for $GTH to be based on the ETH network? Why did you make this decision? Have you thought about changing networks due to the high costs that the ERC-20 network can present? Any plans to develop your mainnet?
A: Gather Network will have its own mainnet. GTH ERC20 tokens will be swapped in 1:1 ratio when GTH mainnet is live.
Because of our model, we need our own chain to let publishers mine (PoW consensus) for Gather Online and other supporting elements such as masternodes for Gather Cloud.
As I mentioned earlier, we plan to bring our testnet live by the end of 2020, and move forward to our mainnet by March 2021.
Q: Token burn is beneficial for any project, in being able to control the number of token circulation and to provide greater incentives to investors. Does Gather have a plan about token burn?

Q: Where did you get the inspiration for this unique project idea of Gather ? And what influence will we have on the crypto industry due to the project?
A: No one likes ads, that’s how we get the inspiration in the first place.
We need a better way to let online business earn, more transparent-secure without the privacy tacking concerns we have today. We all know ads are following us everywhere.
Gather does not hold any user data, rewards the website and application owners for the time spent on their content unlike number of ads displayed.
Also the incomes are unfair with the ads, based on locations it differs a lot — we want to revolutionize the way digital advertising industry works today, by using blockchain with a purpose built coin, and with additional use cases such as Gather Cloud to preserve supply/demand balance in this model.
Q: Do you have plans to attract non-cryptocurrency investors to join the Gather Network? What measures need to be taken to raise awareness of the aggregation network in the non-crypto field?
A: When we talk about Gather Online, we are definitely not considering only crypto websites. We target the whole web and application market. There is already an issue with the monetization for the online businesses so our product is likely to be adapted by word of mouth effect by many non-crypto and crypto web sites / applications once we go live.
We’re already having early adopter registrations on our website on daily basis without running additional marketing campaigns so it’s a sign there is a significant need for alternate monetization.
With our integrated payout system, we close the bridge with non-crypto users as we’re offering them an option to get paid in local fiat currencies (along with BTC, FRM, DEC, DIA, GIV as other payout options). Additionally the user experience for first time users (who would be first time crypto users) is seamless, a few clicks and the product is integrated into the website.
